What are you doing now? I am a chaplain at a hospital.
High School Highlights? I loved high school. I went home for the all school reunion bc I missed my tenth reunion, and had a blast. I'd like to see us definitely have a 20 year get together and would be willing to help plan it with others.
Memories: I truly believe the teachers of OHS were outstanding (and I hope they still are). I really enjoyed all my teachers, but especially loved learning biology and physiology from Ken Meyer. He could demonstrate almost everything in phys using his body! And I will never buy Bayer aspirin--but only plain label aspirin bc of him. He taught life and shared his ideals and values.

Our class had class. We were just so darn talented--and full of potential--and nice! We worked together to make some great floats-the go fruity over the Indians with human fruit was my favorite. We put on a great prom junior year. Traveling with speech and mock trial was great fun. I remember a Shakespearean "cafeteria" lunch, gatherings at John Rezac's, football basketball, and volleyball games, home ec w/Deb McQ, cheating in spanish scrabble w/Carmen E., working at Nelson's and Buenz Drug and tons of other things. I also remember sleeping out in the park the night before the last day of senior year..and then the morning after when the celebration had taken a twist. What year were we in when the "new" gym opened?

What are you doing now? I work full-time for KSDZ-FM in Gordon, Nebraska.
Highlights/Memories: Even though I was only in Ogallala for a short time it was a huge impact on my life. I felt like I already knew so much about it from having family there for many years before even moving to town. I am tempted not to name anyone because I don't want to leave anyone out but I feel I got along with just about everybody. To John Schrottenberger (hope I spelled it close) for getting me into radio at KMCX. To Eric Parker and Earl Schenck for helping me get through my Jack Daniels coma. And it would be wrong for me to leave out Susan (Brown). Why? I must thank her for having a younger sister! A relationship that was a defining moment in my life even to this day. To all of you, including those in other classes, who were friends. Especially Rich Myers, a true friend. Thanks.

What are you doing now? Shannon and I live in McKinney, Texas with our three children. We own a sales tax consulting firm which keeps us both very, very busy. Amanda just started high school and is on the varsity basketball team as a freshman (we’re so proud), Austin just started pre-school (quite the spread).
Highlights/Memories: I remember John Rezac showing up for class in his pajamas, cowboy boots and dr. pepper first thing in the morning; skipping class only one time as a senior and got caught; stuffing about 30 people in a volkswagon bug for some goofy contest; sleeping in the park the night before graduation…

What are you doing now? My husband and I live in Atlanta. We both work in management for Newell Rubbermaid. My office is in Arkansas, so I travel 2-3 times/month. Ken is President, Bernzomatic Inc, Newell Rubbermaid.
Highlights/Memories: Too many. Wuss, Yoda and I in the first annual lip sync contest. Ski trips to Loveland with the youth group. One ski trip too many with Rezac and the girls, watching him uncontrollably ski into the lift line and wipe people out on "accident". Bus rides to track meets. Traveling to summer baseball games in the Monte. And of course countless memories at the lake - we were so lucky to have such a precious amenity in our lives.

We have 3 children who are, (and based on the genetic material they received from me, believe it or not very nice looking!!!) Haley, Jacob, and Emily. They truly have been the light of our lives.

What are you doing now? I'm working on my 12th year in Law enforcement, and based on what we did in our high school days, I find that quite remarkable. Jen has been an office manager for about 6 years now, and loving it.
Highlights/Memories: Too many to count! Speech class was always a riot, the early mornings for show choir, and the afternoons and evenings spent rehearsing for the annual musical. Tommy Ruhlman as the king at the Madrigal dinner, the trip to Estes Park and Snowy Mountain with Select and Show Choir and the hours upon hours spent on that drive playing sheets in the back of the bus. I recall several of us walking up and out of the cabin area at Snowy Mountain and getting stuck in one H*%$ of a thunderstorm which pelted us unmercifully with large hail stones.
Playing hacky sack outside of the commons area was always a howl, particularly when one was subjected to the dreaded death hack for touching the sack with his hands. I'll also never forget all of our classmates that made those years especially unforgettable, through good and bad, we were all there for one another. You could always count on someone in our class being there for someone in need, whether they liked or disliked one another.
We were, without a doubt, very classy in this respect. And to the wildest person in our class, I'll always remember Bruce Siffring and his death wish attitude, driving his grandparents Malibu as fast as it could possibly go in REVERSE from the Jr. High gym to the high school, and running without headlights in his white Trans Am at about 75-80 down his dirt road to home in pitch darkness. Bruce, you are truly the man.

What are you doing now? I am still in Army, and really enjoy what I do. I was in McCook for several years, moved to Lincoln and now I claim South Texas as my home. I have been given the chance to Tour Europe and the Middle East for a couple of years and I am taking that opportunity. I really enjoy going to new duty locations and meeting new people, and if I am lucky get to meet up with some of my classmates.
High School Highlights/Memories? Mr. Sarchet's history class, the man fueled my desire for the past.
Mr. Widfelts writing class; I annihilated every law of grammar and English, but he showed me how to express myself in words.
If anything I should have done better, but I am making up for that now.

Julie Haddix…you had such an impact on me, I had to go and find a good looking red head to marry. Blackstone, Schrotberger two of my closest friends. I loved growing up in that town and the slower way of life.

What are you doing now? We are living in Elgin, Nebraska, where I am the Executive Director of The Homestead/Elgin Housing Authority. I am also the Donor Recruiter for the local Red Cross Bloodmobile, coordinator for the school's Box Tops 4 Education and Labels for Education programs, and parent member of the Curriculum Coordinating Committee at the public school. I research our family's genealogy when I can (not often enough anymore!). I earned a B.A. in Psychology, Minor in Sociology, in 1991 from the University of Northern Colorado, but don't make use of it as much as I should. My wonderful husband is the Supervisor of the Machining Department and the Maintenance Department of Lindsay Corporation. We finally bought our first home, which is a big and beautiful 97 years old. We're a little slower than others on that major purchase, but it took us awhile to figure out where we wanted to settle down. We love our peaceful, happy, quiet-but-busy small-town life!
High School Highlights? I really enjoyed the all-school reunion in the summer of 2000. It was a chance to see not only the people I graduated with, but friends from other classes as well. I wish there had been a better turnout. As for highlights of high school years, I only wish I could go back now with the knowledge I have of who and what is really important. I think we all feel that way now and again. Of course I had some great times, like parties at the lake, the art club trip to Denver, and Mr. Sarchet's history jeopardy games. We had great teachers. I remember Mr. Meyer locking the door on his first period class if you weren't there when the bell rang, and you'd have to get a pass from the principal to get in. Looking back, that was a smart thing for him to do!
